About Dr. Danielle Ledesma, PsyD
A Commitment to Depth, Presence, and Liberation
I believe that therapy is most transformative when it is unhurried and intentionally outside the reach of the systems that often cause our distress.
In a region like Northern Virginia, where our worth is frequently measured by our output, choosing to slow down is a radical act. As a Licensed Psychologist, my practice is rooted in liberatory and anti-oppressive praxis. For me, this is more than a clinical framework—it is a personal commitment to dreaming up a better world alongside you, one where healing is an act of reclamation rather than a "fix."
My Clinical Approach: The Architecture of Healing
I work with individuals and couples who are ready to move beyond "coping" and into a deeper understanding of their inner landscape. My approach is Psychodynamic, meaning we look at the underlying patterns, histories, and unconscious drivers that shape how you move through the world today. To facilitate this depth, I integrate:
Internal Family Systems (IFS): We work to identify and honor the different "parts" of you, the protectors, the high-achievers, and the wounded parts, so you can lead from your most wise Self.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): For couples, I use EFT to help de-escalate conflict and rebuild the secure, emotional bonds that allow a partnership to flourish.
Embodied & Systemic Liberation: We acknowledge that your distress does not exist in a vacuum. We explicitly name and process the impact of historical, race-based, and gender-based trauma. My practice is a space to explore how the systems we live in; capitalism, white supremacy, and patriarchy constrict your breath. We work to release these internalized "shoulds" and heal the somatic weight of systemic oppression, allowing you to return to a body that feels like home.
An Intentional Partnership
By maintaining an intentional, low-volume practice, I am able to offer a level of clinical depth and personal presence that is rare in today’s fast-paced healthcare landscape. This model allows us to work at the pace your soul requires, focusing on long-term transformation rather than short-term management.
Whether you are seeking individual reclamation or looking to deepen the intimacy in your relationship, I am here to hold a space where you can finally stop performing and start being.
Let’s begin the work of coming home to yourself.
